Wengart Industrial Contactor CJX2-1201, AC24V 3NO1NC Ie12A An Important Part of Industrial Control Systems
Wengart industrial power contactor: robust three-phase control and mechanical locking competence The Wengart AC contactor (model series 12A) is a heavy-duty three-phase low-voltage switching device according to the strict international industry standard IEC/EN 60947-4-1. Developed for professional use in control construction, industrial automation technology as well as in complex heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), this contactor offers uncompromising performance. Thanks to the separation of the power circuit and low voltage controls, you can realise highly secure machine architectures on the standard DIN rail. The anti-return guide: check voltage AC 24 V. A massive pain point and the main reason for defectively returned industrial shooter is the misunderstanding regarding the required coil voltage. Please check the current type of your control before wiring: the solenoid of this contactor requires an AC voltage of AC 24 V (50/60 Hz) on the terminals A1/A2. The device does not have a DC coil and must not be connected to a standard DC 24V power supply (DC switching power supply). Applying DC current leads to instant overcurrent coil firing and destroys the internal mechanics. This short check protects your investment and prevents unplanned downtime. Integrated 1NC auxiliary contact for uncompromising safety locks. Anyone who has ever tried to set up a reversible protection circuit (e.g. for lifting and lowering loads or gate drives) knows the risk of a phase short circuit if both contactors attract at the same time. The Wengart model solves this problem in a space-saving way: a mechanically coupled auxiliary contact is already integrated as an opener (1NC - Normally Closed) in the housing. Through this auxiliary contact you grind the control voltage of the enemy contactor - attracts contactor A, the NC contact physically interrupts the coil feed line of contactor B. A fatal malfunction is therefore absolutely ruled out without the need to lock expensive external additional blocks. Limits for hard typing operation (AC-3 vs. AC-4 standard). A common misunderstanding in the trade concerns the load capacity at dynamic engine loads. The contactor lists its performance parameters transparently according to official industry standards to provide you with maximum planning security: Operating class AC-3 (normal engine start): full load up to 12 amps permitted. Perfect for compressors, fans or standard motors that start gently and then run through permanently constant (up to 5.5 kW power at 380V/400V). Operating class AC-4 (tap mode & reverse): downgrading to a maximum of 5 amps is required. Applies to applications where the main contacts must separate currents when the engine is locked (e.g. exact positioning of cranes or inching operation). Compliance with this reduction noticeably extends the life of your contacts. Technical data at a glance: Model: Industrial air contact/modular design for DIN rail mounting. Standard conformity: certified according to international standard IEC/EN 60947-4-1. Main contacts: 3-pole (3NO - NO - NO for three-phase network up to 660V/690V). Integrated auxiliary contact: 1 NC (opener auxiliary contact for locking chains) Coil control voltage (Uc): AC 24 volts AC (50/60 Hz). Rated operating current (Ie): 12 A (class AC-3) / 5 A (class AC-4). Standard motor power in AC-3 operation: 5.5 kW at 380 V/400 V / 7.5 kW at 500 V. Conventional continuous thermal current (Ith): solid 20 amps Life metric: 10 million cycles mechanical / 1 million cycles electric (AC-3). Mounting specification: snap mount for 35mm DIN rail or screw mounting
Product Features
- Low-voltage controls in HVAC and plant technology: completely excludes coil fires due to incorrect current types. The excitation winding is precisely designed for AC 24 V AC voltage and ensures a long insulation strength up to 500 V.
- Continuous operation of three-phase motors and industrial pump systems: prevents premature contact burn under high full load. Reliably switches three-phase loads in AC-3 operation up to 12 A (powerful 5.5 kW at 380/400 V) over 1,000,000 electrical cycles.
- Frequent typing operation and quick reversing on hoists: protects the internal arc extinguishing chambers from extreme overheating. Ensures a permanently stable current resistance of up to 5 A in the heavy load class AC-4.
- Construction of mutual electrical locks in reversible contactors: banishes life-threatening phase short circuits by simultaneously switching opposite directions. The integrated, mechanically force-guided auxiliary contact (1NC/opener) provides instant status messages.
- Retrofitting existing industrial control cabinets under time pressure: Ends lengthy installation delays in tight housing. Allows quick snap attachment to the 35mm DIN rail with a robust mechanical service life of 10,000,000 switching cycles.
