sourcing map Taps and Die Sets M16 x 2 Metric Left Hand Thread with Straight Groove and Round Die
Straight groove tap: Thread Size: M16 x 2; Cutting Direction: Left Hand; Thread Length: 33mm/1.3"; Total Length: 101mm/3.98"; Square Shank Size: 10mm/0.39"; Accuracy: H2; Material: High Speed Steel 6542; Type: Machine Tap ROUND CUTTER: Thread Size: M16 x 2; Cutting Direction: Left; Outer Diameter (OD): 38mm/1.5"; Thickness: 14mm/0.55", Material: Alloy Tool Steel (9CrSi); Accuracy: 6G Package includes: 1 x tap and die set (1 x machine tap, 1 x round die). Note: Use with tapping oil to achieve higher quality threads and make taps and dies more durable. When tapping, suitable lubricating oil should be applied to the cutting edge of the mould and tap. It must be reversed every 1/4 to 1/2 turns to facilitate the removal of the chip from the chip hole.
Product Features
- Compatibility M16x2 metric tap and die set are suitable for making or repairing male and female threads. They are both left hand threads, durable and with see through threads, good for general purpose applications.
- WIDE RANGE OF APPLICATIONS For machining through or flat hole female threads in maintenance and repair work. Suitable for thread processing of alloy steel, moulded steel, cast iron, ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals. For use with tapping oil for higher quality threads and more durable taps and dies.
- Features: Straight groove design, chip removal downwards. High-speed steel tap has high hardness, good toughness and wear resistance. The round die is characterised by good abrasion resistance. Features only the base substrate without coatings.
- EASY TO USE Round dies can be used with a die wrench (not included). The mounting screws in the middle of the key should be inserted into the slot of the die and tightened. Machine taps are used on drills, tapping machines, CNC and milling machines. It is recommended to use collets with overload protection.
- Tips: Recommended feed speed: general steel: 6-15m/min; harder steel: 5-10m/min; stainless steel: 2-7m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min. The torque caused by too fast feed speed is too large, which can easily cause the tap to break.
