Material: M2 (6542) High Speed Steel Package Content : 1pc x Round Die Descriptions:The metric die is made of M2 (6542) high-speed steel, which has high hardness, good toughness, wear resistance and excellent cutting performance. Round dies can machine, correct or clean external threads and are used for ordinary thread processing of stainless steel, aluminium alloy, cast iron, copper, iron, aluminum and plastic. Ideal for maintenance and repair work on pipes, plates and machinery. Tapered locking holes, strong locking force, no loosening. Suitable for re-cutting existing threads in hard materials such as metal and making new threads in soft material such as plastic. The round die is used with a die holder (also called die holder or die key). The position groove of the die should be aligned with the fixing screw in the middle of the key, and the screw should be inserted into the groove of the die and tightened. It must be turned over every 1/4~1/2 turn to facilitate chip ejection from the chip hole. When tapping, suitable cutting oil should be applied to the cutting edge of the die. The end of the rod material should be equipped with a 1 x 45 degree chamfer, and the chamfer must not be too large. The rod diameter should be smaller (approx. 0.05mm-0.15mm) as the nominal diameter of the required thread. Too large diameter can lead to difficult cutting and damage to the cutting teeth.
