Due to limited space, they normally print the highest voltage at\nwhich the switch should be used for on a continuous basis under normal\nconditions. Now this is a very controversial statement because not everyone's\nnormal is the same. Lets just say dust and debris not visible, Moisture not\nhigh and no extreme temperatures that would affect the insulation or\nmechanical properties of the components. It needs to be said here that the\nswitch is good for any voltage below that rating all the way to zero volts.\nUnder the same conditions no matter whose definition of normal you use. So if\nthe connecting device says 600V on it it is also good for 12 VDC or 24 VDC or\n125 VAC and 250 VAC and so on at any value between 0 and 600 AC or DC. To\nclear up Amperage ratings on switches That does not mean that the amperage\nrating on the switch applies to all voltages and types of current. As a matter\nof fact it only is supposed to apply to the voltage and type stated on the\nswitch. If you apply ohms law to voltage and amperage it would indicate that\nif the voltage were half the amperage could double. I Current (amperage) =\nVoltage divided by Resistance. Changing the voltage of the circuit does not\nchange the resistance. However that is not true with alternating current. So\nyou can not use ohms law to determine the amperage value for AC. And there are\nmany more mechanical factors for both DC and AC that have profound affects on\narching outside the scope of this discussion. Like materials, speed, pressure,\nsliding, bouncing, and so on. So it is very important to reach out to the\nmanufacturer of any switch for amperage ratings for the voltage type and\nlevels you need in the circuit. Maintained and Momentary explained A\nMaintained switch is noted several ways in different industries On Off On or\nLatched or Latching or Locking It is going to Latch Lock in position you or\nsomeone else places it. Used for non jogging operations like pumps fans or\nlights A momentary switch denoted in several ways also is (On) Off (On) or\nResetting or automatic reset or springing This term means it will return\nspring reset to a position (usually off) when you release it. For jogging\noperations like lift hoist winch or door What does Pole and Throw refer to\nConsider pole to indicate the number of Isolated (individual) Inputs. Throw\nwould be the number of outputs for each pole. Do not confuse the throws with\npositions. Any single throw switch can only have 2 positions On Off if you\nthink about it. But a double throw switch can have 2 or 3 positions. If a\ndouble throw switch has 3 positions it is sometimes referred to as On Off On,\nand will probably have off as one of the positions. ( usually in the center ).\nIf a double throw switch has only 2 positions then it will always have the\ninput connected to one of the outputs and will not have an off position for\nall outputs at same time. So it is very important to reach out to the manufacturer of any switch for amperage ratings for the voltage type and levels you need in the circuit. Maintained and Momentary explained A Maintained switch is noted several ways in different industries On Off On or Latched or Latching or Locking It is going to Latch Lock in position you or someone else places it. Used for non jogging operations like pumps fans or lights A momentary switch denoted in several ways also is (On) Off (On) or Resetting or automatic reset or springing This term means it will return spring reset to a position (usually off) when you release it. For jogging operations like lift hoist winch or door What does Pole and Throw refer to Consider pole to indicate the number of Isolated (individual) Inputs. Throw would be the number of outputs for each pole. Do not confuse the throws with positions. Any single throw switch can only have 2 positions On Off if you think about it. But a double throw switch can have 2 or 3 positions. If a double throw switch has 3 positions it is sometimes referred to as On Off On, and will probably have off as one of the positions. ( usually in the center ). If a double throw switch has only 2 positions then it will always have the input connected to one of the outputs and will not have an off position for all outputs at same time. This is sometimes referred to as On On.

Product Features

  • #12 wires with female .250 plugs crimped and installed. Hole size is 7/8" X 1-1/16" or 22mm X 27mm. 16 Amps at 250V AC and 20 Amps at 125V AC. 20 Amps at 12V DC and 10 Amp at 24V DC. 6 Pins. Three positions. Excellent quality and an easy simple installation. A switch is an electrical component which can make or break an electrical circuit. A rocker switch is a type of electrical device that is actuated by pushing a button back and forth to open or close an electric circuit. Not Waterproof.
  • Make sure you're using a switch and wire sufficient enough to handle the power that you are carrying. In higher draw applications, a relay may be needed. Always use a fast blow fuse for your rated amperage. Use terminals of good enough grade and quality to handle the amperage in the switch to avoid heat and damage. This polarity reversal switch is suitable for all kinds or electrical equipment, motorhomes, and power wheel quad. Its main function is to upgrade your equipment to reverse direction.
  • Great Replacement parts for all sorts of DC motor reversing applications such as Camper Trailer Jack, RV Controls, in and out operation, open and close for doors, up and down for windows and liftgates. Also good to slide awning. Can be used for accessories on most vehicle. Momentary / Mom / Resetting / Springing / Temporary switch is used for jogging operations such as lift, hoist, winch, door, or window resets automatically (returns to center off position) when released. Forward Reverse Switch.
  • Double Pole Double Throw, DPDT, 2PDT, DP2T, 2P2T, Dual Position, dual throw. This type of switch can be a little confusing. It might be easier to consider it to be two SPDT switches in one. They connect two different power sources to two different loads or accessories at the same time. It routes two separate circuits, connecting each of two inputs to one of two outputs. The position of the switch determines the number of ways in which each of the two contacts can be routed.
  • Our Heavy Duty rocker switches are used in Car, Car Accessories, Race Car, Racing Needs, Truck, Boat, Airplane, Aviation, Motorcycle, ATV, UTV, RV, Camper, Trailer, Automotive, Marine, Industrial, Winch, Actuator, Liftgate, fifth wheel jack, Manufacturing, Bilge Pump, Auxiliary Cooling Fan, Solar, Light Bars, Sounds Systems, MRO Maintenance Repair, Appliances, Outdoor Lights, Dash Lights, headlights, Dome Lights, Engineering, Off Road, Design, Robotics, Automation, Tilt, Trim, DIY, Etc.
