Read more Bourdon tube pressure gauges are classified as mechanical pressure measuring instruments and operate without any need for electrical power. These Bourdon tube pressure gauges are liquid filled in a stainless steel case. The liquid-filled case allows for precise readability, even with high dynamic pressure loads. The liquid damps the moving parts within the case and thus prevents damage and increased wear. The case is constructed of 304 stainless steel with vent plug and stainless steel bayonet ring. The case connection is sealed with EPDM o-ring (glycerin). The window is safety glass with Buna-N gasket and the pointer is black aluminum. The dial is white aluminum with black lettering and the wetted parts are copper alloy. Window Polycarbonate with Buna-N gasket Case Fill Type 213.53 - Glycerin; Glycerin/Water Case Venting - Detail For pressure gauges with full- scale ranges of 300 psi and below, case venting is necessary to preserve the accuracy after the gauge is installed. Temperature fluctuations during shipment and in the process application cause the liquid filling to expand and contract which in turn increases or decreases case pressure. As a result, accuracy can be decreased and the pointer may not return to zero properly until the gauge is vented to the atmosphere. To vent the gauge, move the valve to the open position which will release any pressure or vacuum built up in the case. The lever allows the use of a gauge in a non-upright orientation. However, if the gauge is installed in an upright position, the lever can be left in the open position (no periodic venting required). If you need to mount the gauge in a non-upright position, periodic venting is recommended. During periodic venting small amounts of liquids might escape due to pressure built up inside the case. Top View Case venting must be done immediately after installation to maintain the accuracy of liquid-filled pressure gauges with full-scale ranges of 300 psi or below. Side / Bottom View The gauges offer long, reliable service under rugged conditions and are required for heavy-duty service in industrial environments. Read more
