Description: Sharp distance sensors are a popular choice for many projects where accurate distance measurements are required. This IR sensor is more economical than sonar rangefinder, but offers much better performance than other IR alternatives. Most microcontrollers can be easily connected: the single analog output can be connected to an analog-to-digital converter for distance measurement, or the output can be connected to a comparator for threshold recognition. The detection range of this version is approx. 10 to 80 cm. The GP2Y0A21 uses a 3-pin JST connector (included). It is also easy to solder three wires to the sensor where the terminal pins are attached. When you look back, the three connections from left to right are power, ground and output signal.
