ADUM1201 Dual Channel Digital Magnetic Insulator 2.7V-5.5V MCU1201 Low Power Consumption Small Size and High Integration Replacement of Optocouplers
Product description: The ADUM1201 dual channel digital isolator uses planar magnetic field isolation technology based on chip-scale transformers. This innovative electromagnetic insulation method is significantly superior to optocouplers in terms of their temperature resistance. Features of the ADUM1201: Higher performance: timing accuracy, transient common mode stability, and channel-to-channel adjustment outperform traditional optoelectronic insulators. Smaller size and higher integration density with a PCB area of 40% compared to traditional optoelectronic insulators. Multi- channel digital isolators provide forward and reverse communication channels on the same chip. Technical data: Higher speed, up to 125 Mbps. Lower power consumption: less than a tenth of the power consumption of conventional optoelectronic isolators at the same data rate, with a low operating current of 0.8 mA. Supply voltage range: 2.7V to 5.5V Instructions: Between power supply and ground, a capacitor (0.01 μF to 0.1 μF) is required to filter out high-frequency interference. The distance between capacitor and power supply should be 20mm maximum for optimal filtering. Note: GND1 and GND2 are two different ground points, otherwise isolation will not be achieved. For proper operation of the ADUM1201, both power supplies must be powered simultaneously. If one of the power supplies is not powered, the entire chip will not work properly. Product Features
- Product overview: The two-channel digital isolator ADUM1201 uses planar magnetic field isolation technology based on chip-scale transformers. This innovative electromagnetic isolation method is significantly superior to optocouplers in terms of temperature resistance, ensuring performance and reliability even in high temperature environments up to 125C.
- ADUM1201 FeaturesHigher timing accuracy, transient common mode suppression and channel-to-channel adjustment outperform conventional optocouplers. The ADUM1201 also features a smaller footprint and higher integration and takes up only 40% of the PCB surface area of traditional optocouplers.
- Technical data: higher speeds of up to 125 Mbps; lower power consumption (less than a tenth of the power consumption of conventional optocouplers at the same data rate); low operating current of 0.8 mA; supply voltage from 2.7 V to 5.5 V.
- Instructions: A capacitor (0.01 F to 0.1 F) is required between the power supply and the reference ground to filter out high-frequency interference. For optimal filtering, the capacitor should be 20 mm away from the power supply.
- Applications: Since the two insulation channels are optimally matched, crosstalk between them is minimal. In addition, the two channels are ideal for the bi-directional transmission and reception characteristics of the 232 bus thanks to their inverted input and output design, which greatly simplifies the hardware connection between the insulator and the insulated ends.
