Adafruit INA169 Analog DC Current Sensor Breakout Board will solve all your current monitoring problems. Instead of struggling with a multimeter, you can simply use the convenient INA169 chip on this breakout to measure both DC draw and a convenient analog output in relation to the Earth. The analog output makes it an ideal breakout for feedback loop control. Most current meters such as our current panel meter are only suitable for low side measurements. This means that you need to attach the measuring resistor between the target earth and the real earth unless you want to include a battery. This can lead to problems with circuits as electronics tend to dislike when grounding references change and move with a variable current draw. This chip is much smarter and can handle the measurement of the high side current of up to +60 VDC. A precision amplifier measures the voltage by 0.1 ohms, 1% sensory resistance. The resistance is continuously rated for 2W so you can measure up to +5A continuously. The output is a current absorbed by the 10K on-board resistor, so the output voltage is 1V per amp. For the drawing of 2A, the output is 2V. You can change the load resistor to be larger or smaller by cutting the tracks next to it and solder a continuity resistance. When welded into a 20K resistor, you will get 2V per amp, with a resistance of 5K, 0.5V per amp. Includes a 5-pin connector (so you can easily connect this sensor to a breadboard) and a 3.5mm terminal plug so you can easily connect and unload the load. The operation is simple. Supply the sensor with 2.7-60V and connect V+ to the top of the power supply, then connect the V to the grounded load. Then use a multimeter to measure the voltage output. RoHS Compliant
