Adafruit DS3231 Precision RTC Breakout [ADA3013]
Adafruit DS3231 Precision RTC Breakout [ADA3013]
Adafruit DS3231 RTC Precision Watch Description: Maxim DS3231 is a temperature-compensated real-time clock with integrated quartz that communicates in I2C. This watch is the most accurate and stable you can find in compact low voltage packaging. Most RTC use external 32KHz quartz for timekeeping and keep low consumption. However, the quartz of the quartz may vary, especially with temperature, resulting in drift phenomena that ultimately act against the accuracy of the watch by slightly changing the vibration frequency. The DS3231 has quartz built into its chip, making it more stable and also adding a temperature sensor. This sensor compensates for temperature-induced frequency changes by removing or adding beats for greater accuracy. It's simply the best RTC you can find, mounted on a breakout with a CR1220 button cell battery on the back to keep an accurate time for your projects for years even when the power is cut off. The board has been tested and comes with headers or pins that can be soldered to mount on a test plate. You will find a complete tutorial as well as a bookstore for Arduino or Raspberry.
