Thomas - 4372 Traceable Flip-Stick Thermometer, 4.5" Stem, -58 to 572 degree F, -50 to 300 degree C
Thomas - 4372 Traceable Flip-Stick Thermometer, 4.5" Stem, -58 to 572 degree F, -50 to 300 degree C
The Thomas Traceable Flip-Stick Thermometer measures temperature in liquids and semisolids in laboratories, industrial settings, and food service. The thermometer measures temperature from -50 to 300 degrees C (-58 to 572 degrees F), with an accuracy of + or - 1 degree C between -20 and 100 degrees C. Its 4.5" stainless-steel probe is resistant to most laboratory chemicals. The probe flips out from the base and can be aligned at any angle. The LCD display has 3/4" high digits. The thermometer has minimum/maximum temperature memory for monitoring the consistency of temperatures. A hold function allows measurements to be kept on the screen for viewing. The thermometer is drop- proof from up to 5 ft. The thermometer is traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology standards, indicating that it is calibrated to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025 levels. This Thomas thermometer is used to monitor temperature in liquids and semisolids in laboratories, food service, and industrial settings.SpecificationsPower source(1) AAA batteryTemperature range-50 to 300 degrees C (-58 to 572 degrees F)Temperature accuracy+ or - 1 degree C between -20 and 100 degrees CTemperature resolution0.1 degree (-20 to 200 degrees C), 1 degree outside this rangeStandard metInternational Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025Weight2.375 oz.Dimensions, probe (length x diameter)4.5 x 0.14 inchesDimensions, base (H x W x D)11 x 1.5 x 0.625 inchesH is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.Digital thermometers are instruments used to measure the temperature of air, liquids, or surfaces electronically. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Most digital thermometers use thermistors, which are small electronic resistors. Thermistors are made out of metals that conduct electricity within a certain range and become more conductive the warmer they get. A microcontroller inside the thermometer measures this electrical conductivity and converts it to a temperature, which is displayed on an LCD. Digital thermometers are used in a wide range of applications, including in laboratory settings, food service and storage, and in doctors' offices and hospitals.Thomas Scientific manufactures lab supplies, equipment, chemicals, and instruments for scientific research. It is a registered contractor for the United States Federal Government. The company was founded in 1899 and is headquartered in Philadelphia, PA.What’s in the Box?Thomas Traceable Flip-Stick Thermometer(1) AAA batteryTraceable certificateInstructions
