It works with\nboth digital and analog signals (the voltage must not be higher than VCC), and\nthe connectors work in both directions. To control it, connect 4 digital\noutputs to the address selection pins of the chip (S0-S3) and send it the\nbinary address of the desired channel (see the data sheet for details). So you\ncan connect up to 16 sensors to your system with just 5 pins. Since the\nMux\/Demux also works with digital signals, you can use it to route serial data\nat the TTL level to or from multiple devices. For example, you can use it to\nconnect the TX pins of 16 devices to an RX pin on your microcontroller. You\ncan then select one of these 16 devices you want to listen to. If you want bi-\ndirectional communication, you can add a second board to route your\nmicrocontroller's TX line to the RX lines of 16 devices.
