It works on\nstraight pipes, conduits and on the field joints present on mill coated pipes.\nRoHS 2011\/65\/EU Application of Primer, Putty and Tape: The Scotchrap Tapes 50\nand 51 are easy to apply without special tools or dangerous flame. However, a\nfew general application procedures should be followed to obtain optimum\nperformance. Surfaces to be wrapped should be clean, dry and free of oil,\ngrease, and other contaminants. Blast removal of rust and scale is\npreferred.Welding slag and spatter, sharp edges or burrs should be chipped,\ngrinded or filed. Apply a uniform, continuous coating of the pipe primer to\nthe prepared surface and let dry. Fill in irregular surfaces with the putty.\nCover weld bead with one wrap of tape over the entire surface. Straight pipe\nand conduit are normally spirally wrapped using tape width listed in coverage\ntable. Field joints on mill-coated pipe can be wrapped spirally or with a\ncigarette wrap or wide tape.
